The Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis has once again announced a tender for electricity supplies. In the first one, the bids turned out to be too expensive.
At the beginning of October, a tender for electricity supplies for a purchasing group of over 307 entities (municipalities, subordinate institutions and companies) was cancelled in Silesia. The suppliers' bids exceeded the budget. Local governments decided to take a second approach.

In the first attempt, the metropolis wanted to sign a contract with the supplier for two years. In the second tender, the total estimated volume of supplies is over 468 thousand MWh, in the first it exceeded 967 thousand MWh. The electricity will be used for the needs of municipal energy companies, for street lighting, and also for public utility buildings.

They estimate that wholesale electricity prices at the beginning of next year will increase by as much as 70 percent per year.
