Small entrepreneurs in big trouble. It is much worse than a year ago

Share this article:

Only 5 per cent of micro and small enterprises claim that it is easy to do business in Poland. On the other hand, as many as 79 per cent think it is currently difficult or very difficult. These are the conclusions of the latest inFakt Index survey, illustrating the mood of business owners 🔍

A number of factors contribute to the difficult situation of small businesses, including the energy crisis, inflation and the war in Ukraine.

The Social Security contribution of an entrepreneur has recently increased. Regardless of whether the company has made a profit or not, it has to pay more than PLN 1,800 in contributions to the Social Security and the National Health Fund every month. As a result, many companies are facing an exponential increase in business costs.

The SME Council is therefore trying to convince politicians to introduce voluntary social insurance contributions for entrepreneurs in Poland. Such a solution is in force in Germany and, according to company representatives, should also be introduced in our country.
